What is your favorite thing?
Well, my favorite things are seasonal. Spring - The world coming alive again. Everything feels possible and hopeful. I live for the day I walk outside and get a noseful of spring blossoms, especially Lilacs. I hunt them furiously, as they are gone much too quickly. Summer - ALL OF THIS! (why isn't it summer always?) But, most especially, drinking cocktails on a pier, watching a glorious sunset. Fall - Fresh school supplies and new clothes. The glorious changing of the leaves. My children and I go on leaf walks, collecting the most beautiful ones and pressing them to display on our Thanksgiving table. Winter - (gotta dig deep for this one...Again, why isn't it always summer?) I've grown to love this more as I view it through my children's eyes - hot chocolate, snowmen, sledding, fireplaces roaring. And, most especially, big bed cuddles. Whenever things have gone sideways and we need to start over, someone calls out "BIG BED CUDDLE". All five of us scurry to get under the covers of the king size bed and proceed to reset all the wrongs that occurred on the outside.
