You're Being Ridiculous is super excited to be back at Uncommon Ground, Edgewater with a fun summer show for you! AND ... we're delighted to welcome Annalise Raziq to YBR to share a story with us ... learn a little about Annalise here and get your tickets!

Annalise Raziq is a storyteller, writer, singer, and project manager. She sings with the Americana band "Annalise and the Backsliders" and had a story air on the Moth Radio Hour. Annalise is a Polish Arab and has told stories for Palestinians Podcast at the Boston Palestine Film Festival and the Arab American Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. She is most proud of: her amazing daughter Kalila Holt; creating the performance company Sisters Rising with formerly incarcerated women; and her ability to get others to communicate clearly in the corporate-speak vortex without losing her shit (most of the time).

What's the best advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I've ever gotten came when I was pregnant with my daughter. (And no, it wasn't that story someone told me about how a friend's baby almost died because the mom drank too much coffee or that other person who told me I needed to be playing Mozart in-utero or my baby would never make it to the Ivy Leagues.) (How do you play music in-utero anyway?) My childhood friend told me this: "Whatever stage they are at, whether you love it or you hate it, it will pass." This piece of advice brilliantly covers not only parenting but most of life.
