You're Being Ridiculous is super excited to be back at Uncommon Ground, Edgewater with a fun fall show for you! AND ... we're delighted to welcome Paulina Jones-Torregrosa to YBR to share a story with us ... learn a little about Paulina here and get your tickets!
Paulina Jones-Torregrosa is a PhD student in English at Northwestern University. She just moved to Chicago from Somerville, Massachusetts. Before starting her PhD, Paulina taught seventh grade English, so now she's not afraid of anything. Some of Paulina's favorite things are pugs, Jane Austen movie nights, and dinner parties.
What are you most grateful for this year?
1) I'm grateful for my family. My brother is a proud dad to three cats, my mother once used all of the alcohol emojis in a single text, and my dad still signs his texts "Dad." I love them so much.
2) I'm grateful for New England -- for L.L. Bean, cobblestoned cities, and everyone I left behind.
3) I'm grateful for my friends from grad school who built my desk. I supplied the wine; they interpreted the instruction manual and wielded the screwdrivers. It was a time when I admitted I was afraid of something (building furniture) and my vulnerability was rewarded by people swooping into help. It was the first night I felt I could be at home in Chicago.
