You're Being Ridiculous is super excited to kick of 2019 with a return to Steppenwolf as part of their LookOut Series -- a performance series that presents the work of artists and companies across genre and form. We're delighted to welcome Laurel Ross to YBR to share a story with us ... learn a little about Laurel here and get your tickets!
Laurel Ross graduated from high school in 1965 which means she is quite a bit older than she looks. She credits almost 50 years of a vegetarian diet for her clear mind and clear skin. As an ordained Zen Buddhist priest she is available to perform weddings and funerals, but not bar mitzvahs.
What are your wishes for 2019?
1- I hope that neither of my two cats will need teeth cleaning. It is very expensive and they punish me for months afterwards. Like people, cats do not consider doctors as allies, but as enemies.
2- I hope that someone is elected to be Chicago’s next mayor who actually cares about the people, the parks and the culture of our great city. It has been a long, long time since Harold Washington stood up for righteous city government.
3- I hope that everyone follows through on their New Year’s resolutions because the world will be a better (and slenderer) place.
