Carmenita Peoples is a formally trained Montessori educator, financial services officer, and artistic performer who skillfully combines these varied talents to “edutain” audiences. Through multi-faceted presentation, Ms. Peoples uses storytelling, musical improvisation, and poetry to connect and elevate cross-cultural and generation gaps. She also enjoys a ripe-aged whiskey, a nice game of chess and long walks along Lake Shore Drive.
What are you most thankful for this year?
I’m so very thankful to be able to spend time with my mother as she battles cancer. Its been a very rough year and she’s still “NOT CURED.” I’m realizing it’s not the disease that I’m afraid of, anymore, I have found a deeper meaning to my own life, what it means to be a daughter, my children, and my career. It’s a reminder that there’s always some growing to be done! When we give up, the universe answers in kind.
Carmenita is sharing a story with us at The Hideout on Friday, November 22
